Selldorf Architects is a New York City based architectural design practice founded by Annabelle Selldorf in 1988. Since its inception its guiding principles have been deeply rooted in humanism. At every scale and for every condition, Selldorf Architects designs for the optimal experience of the individual. As a result, its work is brought to life — and made complete — by those who use it. The firm creates public and private spaces that fuse contemporary sensibilities with enduring impact. By giving form to the needs and desires of people and communities alike, the architectural solutions that emerge are equal parts purpose and poetry.

Residential design has been an integral part of the firm’s history, having realized the ground-up construction of large condominium buildings, custom private homes, and renovations of townhouses and individual apartments. The firm’s clients include cultural institutions and universities such as the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Neue Galerie New York, Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and Brown University. In addition, the firm has completed gallery and exhibition spaces for David Zwirner Gallery, Gladstone Gallery, Hauser & Wirth, and Acquavella Galleries, among others.
