Architect Annabelle Selldorf and developer Billy Macklowe took a tour around Greenwich Village and the spots that inspired the design for 21 East 12th Street.The minds behind the new Greenwich Village residences discussed how the proximity of Washington Square and Union Square parks is reflected in the landscaped podium, as well as how the building’s ground level was inspired by the neighborhood’s narrow shops. Residents of these luxury homes will have easy access to local perks like the famous Strand Book Store and the Union Square farmers’ market, where Selldorf can be seen purchasing asparagus while on her way to work.

Billy Macklowe’s 21 East 12th Street in Greenwich Village booked more than $60 million just last month in May making 65% of the project’s 52 units already sold. One of the sales included two combined duplexes sold at $23.5 million. Macklowe stated in an interview that the building attracts mostly locals that are already living in the neighborhood.
